Early Detection Mobile Clinics
Recognizing the growing number of undiagnosed kidney patients in Rajarata, the Anuradhapura Kidney Protection Foundation, with the support of the Department of Health, carries out village-level screening programs.
What is the purpose of the Mobile Clinics?
The Mobile Clinics aim to identify undiagnosed kidney patients in rural and remote villages of the Anuradhapura District. By bringing screening services directly to communities, the program helps detect kidney disease early, provides basic medical advice, and refers patients to appropriate hospitals for further treatment.
What services are provided during the Mobile Clinics?
During the Mobile Clinics, people are screened for kidney-related health issues through basic medical tests and consultations. Suspected kidney disease cases are identified, educated about their condition, and referred either to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital or the nearest local hospital for further diagnosis and management.
How many people have benefited from the Mobile Clinics?
Thousands of people have been screened through the Mobile Clinics over the years. A significant number of patients were identified with kidney-related conditions and referred for specialized care, helping improve early diagnosis and access to treatment for vulnerable rural populations.
Who conducts and supports the Mobile Clinics?
The Mobile Clinics are conducted by the Anuradhapura Kidney Protection Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Health. Medical professionals, volunteers, and support staff work together to organize clinics, conduct screenings, educate communities, and ensure proper follow-up care.
